We will be closed today July 21st all day to celebrate and show appreciation to our staff at Shakespeare Pub for an incredible World Cup and the recent announcement by Yelp voting us #1 Sports Bar in America. Business will resume Wed July 22nd as usual.
To all our wonderful customers, friends, and fellow football supporters,
Well… that’s a wrap.
After five unforgettable weeks of football, the final whistle has blown on the FIFA World Cup 2026, and we simply wanted to say thank you.
Whether you joined us for one match or every single game, thank you for making the Shakespeare Pub what it has always been—a place where strangers become friends, songs are sung a little too loudly, nerves are tested until the final whistle, and memories are made that last long after the tournament ends.
Over the past five weeks we’ve welcomed visitors from all over the world, shared plenty of laughs, celebrated victories, endured heartbreaks, and watched football bring people together in the best possible way. The atmosphere you created was nothing short of magical, and we couldn’t have asked for a better group of supporters to experience it with.
To everyone who queued patiently, raised a glass, tucked into a Full Monty, cheered for their nation, and filled our pub with passion, humour, and camaraderie—thank you. Your support, kindness, and loyalty mean the world to us.
We hope to welcome you back very soon, whether it’s for the Premier League, the Euros in two years’ time, or simply for a proper pint, award-winning fish & chips, and a good old catch-up.
Until then…
Enter a stranger, leave a friend.
With our sincere thanks,
Paul, Nikki, Chef Tom & All the Staff
