Shakespeare Pub Spirit Pairing Evening
Good food. Great wine. No Bollocks!
Welcome Drink “Another Hendrick’s” Spritz
Hendrick’s latest experiment, aggressively topped with prosecco and dressed up with a lemon wheel in a champagne flute, so you can spiral elegantly in style.
Tullamore D.E.W – Carrot & Orange Soup
Carrots, sauteed into quiet submission and blended until they completely forget who they were, then hit with orange zest like a last-minute identity crisis. Served with sweet Hawaiian rolls, because nothing complements soup quite like culinary confusion.
Milagro Silver Paloma – Ruby Grapefruit & Goat Cheese Salad
A salad so busy it feels like it’s compensating for something. Grapefruit, goat’s cheese, fennel, almonds, shallots, tomatoes, to be honest, it’s less a dish and more a group chat that should’ve been an email. Light citrus dressing included to keep up the illusion of restraint.
Monkey Shoulder & Drambuie “Rusty Nail” – Chicken Cordon Bleu
Chicken that’s been rolled, stuffed, breaded, and emotionally overextended. Packed with smoky ham and sharp English cheddar, because subtlety packed its bags hours ago then drowned in peppercorn sauce. Served on pilaf rice, which didn’t ask to be involved but is trying to remain professional.
Sailor Jerry “Painkiller” – Pineapple & Coconut Upside-Down Cake
A dessert that arrives upside down, much like your judgment after the third cocktail. Caramelised pineapple, coconut, and sponge flipped dramatically for attention, paired with vanilla bean ice cream in a desperate attempt to cool the situation down. It won’t, but you'll still enjoy it.
